Brazil's largest rooftop solar plant is installed at Jacto's warehouse. The solar power plant has 11 modules and generates clean energy to meet the company's operations.
TTS Energia, a solar power plant engineering and construction company in Brazil, is responsible for the design, installation and commissioning of the largest rooftop solar power plant in Brazil. This is a 6,4 megawatt-peak (MWp) renewable energy project installed at the Jacto manufacturing unit, one of the country's agricultural machinery giants, located in the Paulópolis district, in the city of Pompeia, in the interior of the state of São Paulo.
Rooftop solar plant covers 39 square meters
In total, the solar power plant has more than 11,3 photovoltaic modules installed on the roof of the Jacto agricultural equipment factory, covering an area of almost 39 square meters. The rooftop solar plant system has the capacity to generate 8 GW-hours/year (GWh/year), enough renewable energy to supply a large part of the electricity demand of Jacto's operations.
Jacto is an internationally renowned Brazilian company, specialized in the manufacture of agricultural machinery and equipment aimed at increasing efficiency and sustainability process in the field. Founded in 1948, in the city of Pompeia, in the interior of São Paulo, the company stands out for offering advanced technological solutions, such as sprayers, coffee harvesters and equipment for precision agriculture.

Recognized for its innovation and commitment to quality, Jacto is a reference in the agricultural sector, meeting the demands of rural producers in more than 100 countries. In addition, the company adopts practices aligned with ESG guidelines, investing in renewable energy projects and initiatives that promote environmental preservation and social development in the communities where it operates.
Other Jacto solar power plant projects
The project for the largest rooftop solar plant in Brazil is part of the self-production model, a modality in which the consumer is, at the same time, a generator of the energy he uses and is part of the Free Contracting Environment (ACL), also known as the free energy market.
In addition to the rooftop solar plant at the warehouse, TTS Energia also installed a photovoltaic system on the roof of the Jacto factory's carport. The 886-kilowatt mini solar power plant has 1,6 photovoltaic modules spread over an area of 6,1 square meters. This solar power plant alone has a generation capacity of 1,17 GWh/year.
According to the executive director of TTS Energia, Jacques Hulshof, the use of large roofs, such as the largest rooftop solar plant in Brazil, both in rural and urban areas, is a trend in Brazil and represents one of the great solutions for companies and agricultural producers seeking to reduce electricity costs, secure electricity supply and increase competitiveness and sustainability for their business.
The executive concludes that, in practice, these projects transform a cost center, that is, a roof that generates expenses, into a large source of revenue from renewable energy, in addition to reinforcing the ESG policies of agribusiness companies and other business segments.
