“Mato Grosso is attracting large investments in the biofuels sector, which is a clear sign of the potential of our economy. The construction of this plant in Tapurah and the future installation of a unit in Diamantino are proof that the state is ready to lead in the biofuels and food markets,” said Mendes.

Advances in ethanol production
In 2023, Mato Grosso stood out as the national leader in production of corn ethanol, reaching 4,4 billion liters, representing 73% of the country's total production.
This achievement is a reflection of the state's ability to meet market demands and the efficiency of its industrial operations.
For Mauro Mendes, the new plant is an important step in the advancement of the state's industrialization.
He believes that the investment not only strengthens Mato Grosso's position in the national and international market, but also contributes to sustainable economic growth.
“The Government of Mato Grosso believes in the productive potential of these investments and how they contribute to all regions of the state. By strengthening and consolidating the industrial sector, we are enhancing our capacity to expand the production of food and biofuels in a sustainable way for the world,” said the governor.
Impact of the plant on the local economy
The new plant in Tapurah will have a processing capacity of 1 million tons of corn per year, which translates into more than 1,3 million liters of ethanol per day.
The construction of the plant is also a major source of employment, with around 700 people currently employed and the number of workers expected to reach over a thousand in the coming months.
The plant's impact on the local economy will be significant, contributing to job creation and the development of regional infrastructure.
The operation of the plant will also reinforce Mato Grosso's ability to lead the production of biofuels, consolidating its position in the sector.
