A 14-meter crater opens in front of a resident's house in Minas Gerais and reveals a historic gold mine that is approximately 300 years old.
Remember this incredible story that happened on the day February 05, 2022! A surprising discovery for mining on Rua Maestro Joaquim Aniceto, in Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais. Andrea was walking calmly when, suddenly, the ground opened up right in front of the house where she lives, and the crater revealed a gold mine that was approximately 300 years old!
Firefighters and cave experts were called and found a deactivated gold deposit in the hole, a historical relic dating back at least 300 years that had been right under the feet of the residents of Ouro Preto all this time. The mine will be thoroughly analyzed and then catalogued.
Watch the video below and see the deposit inside
A Local Civil Defensel carried out an inspection where the cavity, measuring approximately 14 meters, appeared in front of Andrea's residence.

Also at the site, accompanied by the Civil Defense and Firefighters, was Ufop professor Hernani Mota, a Mining Engineer and specialist in mapping underground mines in the city.
After analyzes by Professor Luiz Henrique Cardoso, a UFOP geologist, it was concluded that the residence is built on a more resistant rock than the one that collapsed and is not at risk of falling.ore
The orientation is that the cavity be filled with rocks outside the rainy season, and that other works be carried out to guarantee the safety of the residents. In the meantime, the site must remain under surveillance.ore
Pyrite, the bright yellow mineral known as "fool's gold" for fooling the less experienced, can make fools rich!
It seems that "fool's gold" is not finished revealing its many secrets. In recent decades, pyrite (fool's gold) has been the subject of advanced testing and deep diving investigations. The discovery made in June of "an unrecognized third way that real gold can lurk inside pyrite" could change the way gold is mined.ore
The mineral pyrite was first called "fool's gold" when less experienced prospectors believed this bright yellowish material was real gold. During the California gold rush, prospectors were actually correct in their assumption that they would never profit from mining pyrite – there was no way to squeeze anything useful out of said mineral.
When faced with iron disulfide (FeS²), prospectors in the 1840s meant they had more searching to do. It's better than dirt and stone, but it still wasn't worth keeping.
