The increase in tolls on highways BR-365 and BR-364 will come into effect in November, affecting drivers in MG and GO, according to ANTT.

Drivers using highways BR-365 and BR-364 will pay more at toll plazas. The adjustment authorized by ANTT aims to maintain the financial balance of the concession, considering technical criteria and investments, although the impact on the pocketbook is inevitable.

For drivers who travel through the highways BR-365 and BR-364, some unpleasant news is on the way: toll prices will soon be adjusted.

Starting November 14, toll fees at toll plazas under the EcoVias do Cerrado concession, in Minas Gerais and Goiás, will undergo an increase that promises to impact travelers' pockets.

But, after all, what are the motivations behind this adjustment, and how will it directly affect drivers in these regions?

Increase values and locations

The decision to increase fares by R$0,20 was authorized by National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) and published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU).

With this change, the basic fare will increase from R$5,70 to R$5,90 for category 1 vehicles, which includes passenger cars.

This adjustment will be implemented at the following toll plazas on BR-365: Uberlândia (km 646), Monte Alegre de Minas (km 704), Ituiutaba (km 765) and Santa Vitória (km 834).

On BR-364, in the state of Goiás, the increase will affect the toll booths of Paranaiguara (km 32), Cachoeira Alta (km 923) and Jataí (km 156).

Why are tolls getting more expensive?

According to the concessionaire EcoVias do Cerrado, this increase follows an annual tariff review provided for in the contract.

This process, conducted by ANTT, takes into account several technical factors, including the Broad National Consumer Price Index (IPCA) and the investments made by the concessionaire over the period.

These elements are essential to ensure the economic and financial balance of the concession contract and allow the concessionaire to continue to offer maintenance and improvements on the highways under its management.

The annual tariff update is seen by the concessionaire as a reflection of operating costs and the commitment to the quality of service offered to road users.

According to EcoVias do Cerrado, the improvements that occur on these roads are, in part, financed by the amount collected at toll plazas.

Thus, according to the concessionaire, the adjustment represents a way to ensure the continuity of investments and safety on the highways.

Criteria for tariff review

The annual tariff review follows a series of contractual and technical criteria established by ANTT. Among them, the IPCA is one of the central economic indicators, reflecting the accumulated inflation in the period and, consequently, the cost of inputs and services.

In addition, the agency takes into account investments that the concessionaire has made to improve road conditions, such as duplications, repairs, new signage and road safety projects.

In this way, ANTT seeks to maintain the financial balance of the contract, meeting both the interests of the concessionaire and the well-being of users.

Impact on drivers and next steps

For drivers who use these highways daily or for occasional trips, the fare increase may seem like a modest addition, but it adds up over long-distance or frequent routes.

This adjustment reflects the dynamics of concession contracts that aim, at the same time, to guarantee the viability of operations and the quality of services offered.

Amidst this, users wonder to what extent these adjustments actually result in visible improvements on the highways.

Despite the technical arguments, the financial impact is felt directly in the pocket, especially in an economic scenario in which each additional expense is significant.

Is this expensive? The ones in PARANÁ are expensive, with potholed and uneven roads. This, after they promised to lower prices at the Stock Exchange auction.

This is a lack of respect for the population. This country does not deserve these deputies when they are marching in search of votes. These **** say they are going to remove tolls, they are going to remove the radars, and in the end they are not going to remove them. No, they are a bunch of deceivers.

Kkkk it only feeds the toll values, nothing else is done, probably in the contracts it is written that duplication is to be done on the highways, but ISO does not happen in any way and the highways are of very poor quality ANTT and the tolls only share the profits and do nothing.
