Toyota begins construction on its new factory in Sorocaba, with a billionaire investment that promises to boost the local economy.

The City of Sorocaba recently participated in the ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the new factory Toyota do Brasil. This project is part of an investment package totaling R$11 billion, announced by the Japanese automaker for Brazil until 2030. The new Toyota factory is an important addition to the city's industrial park and promises to generate jobs and develop the local economy, in addition to strengthening Toyota's presence in Brazil.

Toyota's new factory launch event

The event was attended by the mayor of Sorocaba, Rodrigo Manga, the first lady Sirlange Frate Maganhato and the Secretary of Communication, Lucas Pedrozo.

The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, was also present, demonstrating the government's support for the new Toyota factory project.

During the ceremony, the mayor highlighted the importance of Toyota's investment, stating that the new factory will represent the largest earthmoving project in the State of São Paulo.

With a total area of 160 thousand square meters, the new factory operations are scheduled to begin in 2026, further consolidating Toyota's operations in Brazil.

Rodrigo Manga highlighted that the new Toyota factory is not only a milestone for Sorocaba, but a sign of confidence in the Brazilian economy.

The R$11 billion investment reflects Toyota's commitment to the development of the automotive industry in Brazil.

Toyota's presence in the city should attract more suppliers and related industries, boosting the creation of a significant industrial hub in the region.

Innovation in Toyota production

The new factory Toyota's plant in Sorocaba will be responsible for producing a new compact hybrid flex vehicle, with production scheduled to begin in 2025.

In addition to this model, the new Toyota factory will develop a new vehicle that will use the same technology, specially designed to meet the needs of the Brazilian market.

This initiative by Toyota reinforces the automaker's commitment to innovation and adaptation to local consumption patterns, highlighting the importance of the new factory in the context of Brazil.

The new plant will also align with global sustainability trends, which is a crucial aspect for Toyota.

With the growing demand for vehicles that use cleaner technologies, the new factory will integrate processes aimed at energy efficiency and emissions reduction.

This demonstrates that the automaker not only invests in production, but also in the environmental quality of its operations.

Logistics of the new factory

As factories Toyota's factories in Sorocaba will follow the Ecofactory concept, which prioritizes sustainable technologies.

This model includes decarbonization and reduction of water and energy consumption, in addition to reducing waste generation.

The new plant will implement an optimized painting process that will not use water in the booth, also reducing CO₂ emissions by 20% by replacing solvents with water-based paints.

This strategy is part of the company's commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Additionally, the Toyota plant will have suppliers located just one kilometer away, which will facilitate logistics and reduce truck traffic. This will not only contribute to sustainability, but also to the company's local economic development in Brazil.

Proximity to suppliers will ensure a more efficient supply chain, reducing costs and improving operational efficiency.

With the construction of the new factory, Toyota reaffirms its commitment to Brazil and the generation of economic value for the Sorocaba region.
