Toyota presents new models on the national market, challenging the hegemony of BYD and GWM with its affordable electric cars.
With the arrival of new automakers in the Brazilian market, such as BYD e GWM, Toyota is mobilizing to maintain its competitive position. The Japanese automaker is preparing to launch an offensive against Chinese competitors in the automotive segment, with significant investments in new electric and hybrid cars, aiming to strengthen its presence in the national market.
New electric cars that Toyota will bring to the Brazilian market
O Yaris cross It is a Japanese compact SUV that has already been widely speculated to arrive in Brazil with its European version, however, this year a new Philippine configuration of the car was launched, this being the Toyota model that will arrive in Brazil.
Developed under the DNGA platform, a variant of TNGA compact cars, where the Corolla and Corolla Cross are made, the new model proved to be a very interesting car and which in fact has the recipe for success for the Brazilian market, competing with cars BYD electrics. With the size of a Hyundai Creta, the model is 4,31 cm long, 2,62 cm long, 1,77 cm wide, 1,61 cm high and accommodates 405 L of luggage in the trunk.

The design is one of the strongest points of the new Toyota car, which looks like a mini Rav4, with a full LED optical set that includes fog lights, hexagonal grilles, 17-inch wheels, chrome window frames, in addition to having integrated spoilers at the rear, as well as a gray applique on the bumper and full LED lighting.
Inside, Toyota's new compact to compete with BYD's electric cars has a finish similar to the Corolla Cross, without many areas that are soft to the touch but with a leather strip on the dashboard and also on the doors.
Toyota's new electric car features several technologies
The Toyota car has great interior space and the equipment list has everything, including even ACC with the Stop/go function. Despite not being the king of performance, currently, the public is more focused on fuel economy and the new model does very well in this, achieving averages of 19 km/l of gasoline. The new Yaris Cross will arrive here in 2024 with national production and will cost around R$120 to R$160 (for the most expensive versions with hybrid engines).
Another model to compete with BYD's electric cars
The Yaris Active, like the new Cross that was presented, was also launched in the Philippines. Bringing practically everything that the previously mentioned model has, but in a more spacious body with a familiar feel, the new sedan model is a very promising car for the coming years, especially taking into account the advancement it has gained from the current generation compared to the new model available in Asia.
The Active now has 16-inch hexagonal wheels, full LED headlights as well as its headlights. Inside, the sedan has evolved in finishing, with a leather strip on the dashboard and larger leather areas in the door areas. The equipment list has everything, including semi-autonomous driving assistants.
