The most anticipated car of 2024, the new Toyota Yaris Cross promises to be the best-selling in its category and scare everyone giants like Crete and Renegade with its national production. The brand, after losing so many sales to competitors like Volkswagen, Hyundai, Jeepp, among others, decided to move and finally bring an option for a new Toyota SUV to Brazil.

O Toyota's new SUV has come to position itself as an entry-level model in its catalog and compete for market share with other major players in the segment such as Chevrolet Tracker, Jeep Renegade, Fiat Fastback among many others that have performed extremely well here.

One of the most anticipated SUVs of all, the new Yaris Cross is a car that has a promising future in Brazil, featuring PCD configurations and a wide range of versions and prices. It will certainly make a lot of noise on national soil and will shake up the segment this year. Toyota's new SUV is built on the DNGA platform, which is a simplified version for compact models and derivatives of the tnga.

New Toyota Yaris SUV will be developed on the DNGA platform

TNGA, for those who don't know, is where the Corolla cross and other midsize cars. Toyota's new SUV was the car that the public always asked for, but as the European Yaris Cross never had a chance of being offered here, as it was on a completely different platform and exclusive to Europe, Asia had to produce its own Yaris Cross completely different for it to be offered here and, in this case, that is what will happen.

It is also worth mentioning that the new Yaris Cross is already being tested in Brazil with heavy camouflage and will arrive this year.

Design of the new SUV impresses

In dimensions, the model measures 4,31 m in length, 2,62 m in wheelbase, 1,77 m in width, 1,61 m in height, weighing up to 1238 kg and accommodating a good 405 L of luggage in the trunk. The look is beautiful and it looks like a mini Corolla Cross.

At the front we have a hexagonal grille, sports bumper and full LED headlights, including fog lights. On the sides, Toyota's new SUV comes with two-tone paintwork, a roof rack with an aluminum finish, chrome window frames, as well as wheels up to 17 inches. At the rear, the Yaris Cross adopts a gray appliqué on the bumper, integrated spoiler and full LED lights.

When we talk about engines, Toyota's new SUV comes with modest options, but which can serve Brazilians well. The 1.5 four-cylinder aspirated Flex will now generate 111 horsepower on ethanol and up to 15 kgfm of torque.

Today he has 14,9 kgfm, meaning there will be a slight gain. The transmission will always be automatic, CVT, simulating up to seven gears.

In the top configurations, the model will feature the new hybrid system that also uses as a base a 1.5 naturally aspirated gasoline engine coupled with another self-rechargeable electric motor. Just like the Corolla Cross, there will be between 120 and 130 horses combined. 

Toyota SUV interior features several technologies

Inside, the new SToyota Yaris Cross UV shares a lot with its sedan brother. The SUV has a finish that is even good for the category, with hard plastic and synthetic leather covering several areas of the interior. The internal space comfortably accommodates four adults and one child.

In terms of equipment, the car is very complete and we have a configurable digital dashboard, multifunctional steering wheel, induction cell phone charging, configurable LED ambient lights, face-to-face key, digital climate control, trunk with electric opening and closing with proximity sensor, parking brake electronics, driving mode selector, panoramic sunroof, JBL premium sound system, air vents for the rear seat and much more.
