This change, unprecedented in the institution's history, eliminates the barrier of waiting an entire year for the selection process, facilitating access for busy professionals or those seeking to immediately advance their qualifications.
Continuous flow and course registration: how the new UERR selection process works
Interested parties have until November 19, 2024 to register for the selection process. Master's in Public Security, Human Rights and Citizenship.
Entries must be made at the UERR official website, where candidates will find complete guidelines and the documents required for the application. All requested documents must be sent to the course coordinator's email: mpspdhc@uerr.edu.br.
With the adoption of the continuous flow system, candidates will have more opportunities throughout the year, as they will not need to wait for an annual selection process to enter the course.
Josias Ferreira, professor and coordinator of the master's degree, highlights that this change increases the chances of entry and better meets the profile of those seeking more immediate professional qualifications.
“The board approved the offer of 20 vacancies for 2025, which will be available in continuous streaming.
With this, professionals from different related areas, such as human rights, citizenship and public security, can better plan to enter the course throughout the year”, explained Ferreira in a note.
Research areas and lines of study offered by the course
The UERR master's course offers two strategic lines of research that seek to integrate theory and practice in a unique way, directly contributing to the training of professionals who can apply their knowledge to the challenging situations of the current Brazilian context.
Human rights, citizenship and public policies
This line of research is aimed at professionals who seek to understand and transform the relationship between citizenship and public policies.
With a focus on human rights practices, students will have contact with critical and in-depth studies, with the aim of developing strategies to promote citizenship and analyze current public policies.
This knowledge offers a solid foundation for application in various areas of public management, NGOs, and sectors focused on social inclusion and justice.
Public safety, violence and social defense
Focused on topics such as violence prevention e social defense, this line is ideal for those who work in the area of public security and want to improve their action strategies, knowledge of the dynamics of violence and effective forms of response to face the challenges in this field.
Students will be exposed to modern concepts and advanced research tools, enabling them to deal with the increasingly complex reality of public security in Brazil.

Master's degree selection and enrollment schedule
For interested candidates, the selection process follows a schedule well defined by UERR. After the registration period, the next step will be the announcement of the evaluation panels, scheduled for November 22.
Then, the final results with the names of those approved will be released on December 5th, giving new students the certainty of their admission before the end of the year.
The registration period is scheduled to take place between the days 9 and 17 December. This interval ensures that those approved have enough time to organize their documentation and complete the enrollment procedures, guaranteeing their place on the course and preparing for the start of classes in February 2025.
