TotalEnergies' campaign in Angola now features the company's offshore drillship. This is another important Valaris offshore deal for 2023.
The multinational of maritime services Valaris announced last Thursday (03/08), the start of activities of its offshore drilling vessel in the TotalEnergies campaign in Angola. The Valaris DS-12 drillship is one of the main ones in the company's fleet, and should end its activities in the country in October this year. After that, he will head to Egypt to start work on a new contract with BP.
Valaris Starts Offshore Drilling Campaign with TotalEnergies in Angola
Offshore drilling company Valaris has started its drilling campaign with TotalEnergies off the coast of Angola, employing one of its state-of-the-art drillships.
The contract for the 12-day Valaris DS-100 drillship was awarded in March 2023, with operation planned to begin in the second quarter of that year.

The drillship is currently working in collaboration with TotalEnergies in Angola, marking an important milestone in the partnership between the two companies.

Valaris expands activities in drilling market and DS-12 will head to Egypt
The contract between Valaris and TotalEnergies for the offshore drilling campaign ensures even more prominence for the chartered vessel.
The Valaris DS-12 drillship, built at the DSME Okpo shipyard in South Korea, is an impressive 780-foot-long platform capable of accommodating up to 200 people.
With a maximum operating depth of 12.000 feet and a drilling capacity of up to 40.000 feet, the track vessel is highly versatile and suitable for a variety of offshore projects.
Following the successful completion of the drilling campaign with TotalEnergies in Angola, the Valaris DS-12 drillship is scheduled to embark on a new journey.
In December 2023, the ship is expected to move to Egypt to start an employment contract with BP.
This operation is expected to continue through November 2024, showing Valaris' continued commitment to providing efficient solutions to various energy companies around the world.
