In partnership with SENAI-RN, the companies finalized the first Keep It Local professional qualification program in Rio Grande do Norte. There were 25 workers trained in the renewable energy sector by EDP Renováveis and Vestas.
The giants of the energy sector EDP Renováveis and Vestas completed, last Thursday (15/12), the first edition of the professional qualification program Keep It Local, in the municipality of Caiçara do Rio do Vento, in Rio Grande do Norte. The course trained a total of 25 people to work in the renewable energy. According to the companies, this is a way of boosting professional development in the rural areas where their projects operate, contributing to the socioeconomic growth of the region.

The last week was very important for the strengthening of relations between EDP Renováveis, the fourth largest wind and solar energy producer in the world, and Vestas, a leading company in the manufacture, sale, installation and maintenance of wind turbines.
The companies finalized the first edition of their joint professional qualification program, Keep It Local, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.

The course was held in partnership with SENAI-RN, the National Service for Industrial Learning, and trained a total of 25 people in the areas of renewable energies, with more than half of the group being women.
The program was carried out free of charge by the companies, and both confirmed their interest in carrying out new editions of the professional qualification course in the region.
According to Vestas and EDP Renováveis, the main objective of the initiative is to boost the qualification of workers in rural areas and expand employability in the renewable energy sector.
Rio Grande do Norte is the leading state in the production of wind energy on land, and more and more new investments are needed to boost professional qualification in the region.

Diplomas from the first edition of the Keep It Local professional qualification program were delivered last week to 25 students
In all, the Vestas and EDP Renováveis professional qualification program offered 25 scholarships in the region, to 13 women and 12 men, training 100% of those enrolled in the area of renewable energies.
The delivery of diplomas took place last week, in a ceremony held at the Community Development Association of the Municipality of Caiçara do Rio do Vento, with the participation of local authorities, such as Mayor Conceição de Maria Gomes Lisboa Rocha.
The first edition of Keep It Local had the participation of some Vestas employees to address the topic, and was complemented by a visit by the group to the Service and Training Center in Parnamirim.
The president of Vestas for Latin America, Eduardo Ricotta, commented that he is proud to participate in the project and hopes that the company can continue to contribute to employability and professional qualification in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.
