Volkswagen's new electric car delivers up to 941 km of autonomy
In a recent test conducted at Nardò track, in southern Italy, the new electric car achieved an impressive range of 941 km on a single battery charge, exceeding by 32,7% its already considerable official range of 709 km, measured by the European WLTP standard.
During the test, the Volkswagen electric car consumed just 9,2 kWh per 100 km, the equivalent energy efficiency of around 1 liter of diesel for the same distance.

This feat in the automotive industry is attributed to the combination of an 86 kWh liquid battery (useful), advanced aerodynamics (drag coefficient of 0,23) and a state-of-the-art propulsion system, known as APP550, which delivers 286 horsepower and 54 Nm of torque.
The test of Volkswagen's new electric car was carried out in cold weather conditions, between 5 and 15 degrees Celsius, which usually require more energy for heating. Even so, the new vehicle exceeded expectations, highlighting its potential to break the record in more favorable conditions.
Although the test was designed to maximize efficiency, Volkswagen highlighted that the simulated conditions were similar to large city traffic, with an average speed of 29 km/h, in line with figures for cities such as Hamburg (22 km/h) and Amsterdam (31 km/h), according to the TomTom Traffic Index.
New electric car establishes itself as a great option for long trips
This suggests that, in urban travel, Volkswagen's electric car can offer considerably greater autonomy than average.
In addition to its impressive autonomy, the new electric car also stands out for its fast charging capacity. The model supports up to 200 kW of DC charging, allowing you to add 244 km of range in just 10 minutes.
A 10% to 80% charge can be completed in about 26 minutes, enough time for a quick break during long journeys.
The new electric car is already making a significant impact on Volkswagen’s sales. The model is outselling the traditional Passat in orders in Europe, solidifying its position as an all-electric alternative for long-distance drivers and corporate fleets.
