Volvo is recalling 106 defective cars. Some vehicles have errors in the brake support functions, but Brazilian dealerships have not yet been communicated about the process.

Volvo is recalling 106 cars worldwide, including the X40, S60, XC40, V60, V60 Cross Country, V90, XC60, V90 Cross Country, S90 and XC90. The recall became popular in Brazil with advertisements from car makers calling for certain models to be repaired for factory defects. the call of faulty Volvo cars started after the Swedish automaker found an error in the support functions of the brakes. However, there should be no risk that the brakes suddenly stop working.

Volvo cars also have software defects

According to Volvo, there is a possible error in the software linked to the brakes and drivers need not necessarily be afraid to drive the defective cars. However, even so, Volvo is carrying out the recall on all units where there is a risk of the error happening.

As the failure happens in software, there is the possibility of correcting it just by updating the car's control system and, in this way, in some cases the repair can be done completely remotely. But since this does not apply to all cars, each owner is given a unique instruction on how to deal with the malfunction.

In this way, he will know if it is really necessary to proceed and make the Volvo recall at the nearest dealership, or if the repair can be carried out through the cloud. In Brazil, the Brazilian subsidiary of Volvo confirmed in interviews that it has not yet received any notification about the recall on faulty cars, but he was ready to clarify the customers who appear with any doubts.

Volvo had previously recalled models

Volvo has announced a recall of six models in 2021 due to the risk of failure in the low fuel pressure sensor, which may have its functioning impaired by the high content of ethanol in national gasoline. The defect could affect the 2013 to 2016 models of vehicles Volvo V40, S60, V40 Cross Country, XC60, V60 and XC90.

The contract for the low pressure sensor for fuel with a high content of ethanol in gasoline could cause gradual corrosion of the insulation of the component's electrical wires, with a risk of fire and short circuit in case of contact with the fuel.

The repair involved replacing the LPS sensor on the vehicles recalled. The service had an estimated duration of 1 hour and could be scheduled at the brand's dealerships on August 2, 2021.
