Registration is now open at IFRS for free qualification courses with a scholarship of up to R$858! An opportunity for those seeking training and income.
The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS) is open for subscriptions for two free professional qualification courses, which also offer scholarships to participants. These courses, classified as Initial and Continuing Education (FIC), are aimed at people who have completed Elementary School I (from 1st to 5th grade).
In total, 70 vacancies are available, 35 for the “Miscellaneous Services Assistant” course in Porto Alegre, and another 35 for the “Industrial Painter” course in Alvorada. The vacancies are preferably for residents of Porto Alegre, Alvorada, Canoas and Esteio.
Who can participate in the free courses?
Priority for vacancies will be given to people in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability, who have low income and who are unemployed, with preference for minority groups, such as women; people with disabilities; black people; brown people; transgender people; transvestites; indigenous people; quilombolas; and refugees.

Os selected will be entitled to receive a monthly grant of R$660 for the duration of the course. For women with children up to 11 years old, the grant will be R$858 per month.
About the Federal Institute’s free courses
Miscellaneous Services Assistant
In the Miscellaneous Services Assistant course, participants will learn about workplace safety and the environment, 5S concepts and proper cleaning practices, as well as standard operating procedures for cleaning facilities and equipment. In addition, there will be basic notions of warehouse, logistics and minor maintenance repairs.
Upon completion of the course, the student will be qualified to perform general cleaning and maintenance services, as well as delivery, receiving, manufacturing and service activities.
The Porto Alegre class will have classes in the afternoon, from Monday to Friday, lasting approximately four months and with a total workload of 174 hours. The course will begin on October 7th at IFRS – Porto Alegre Campus, located at Rua Coronel Vicente, 281, in the city's Historic Center.
Industrial painter
The Industrial Painter course will provide knowledge on health, safety and the environment, as well as surface preparation and industrial painting techniques. Students will be trained to work in industrial painting activities on pipes and equipment, using hand tools and machines. This will allow them to work in sectors such as the oil and gas, naval and manufacturing industries.
Classes for the Alvorada group will be held in the afternoon, from Monday to Thursday. The course lasts approximately four months, with a total workload of 252 hours. The course is scheduled to begin on October 7th, and activities will be held at IFRS – Alvorada Campus, at Rua Professor Darcy Ribeiro, 121, Campos Verdes neighborhood.

Registration can be done free of charge on the website autonomyerenda.com.br until September 16th. The candidate must fill out an electronic form with the requested information. For those who prefer, there is the possibility of registering in person on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 13 pm to 17 pm, at the IFRS campuses in Alvorada or Porto Alegre.
The selection will be carried out through a public draw among the applicants, and the result will be announced on September 23rd.
