The Federal University of Piauí (UFPI) launched the Notice 16/2024 for the Specific Selection Process (PSE) for free distance learning undergraduate courses (EAD) starting in 2025. In total, there are 4.350 vacancies distributed in 17 undergraduate and bachelor's degree courses, offered through the Open University of Brazil (UAB). The places are 100% free and are distributed across 46 in-person support centers located in municipalities in Piauí, offering an excellent opportunity for those who wish to enter higher education in a flexible and accessible way.
Purpose of free online courses and workload
The free distance learning undergraduate courses aim to provide qualified training for professionals in various areas, with the objective of meeting the demands of the market and basic education. With workload varying according to the online course, the teaching will be offered in the distance learning modality, ensuring greater flexibility for students. There will be mandatory in-person activities at the support centers, such as seminars, practical sessions and assessments. The interaction between teachers and students will take place in a virtual learning environment, with the use of forums, video conferences and other online tools.

Free courses are offered at 46 UAB centers, located in several municipalities in the state of Piauí, allowing students from different regions to have access to higher education.
Selection process
The selection process will be carried out through an objective written test, which will include questions on Portuguese, Mathematics and General Knowledge, as well as an essay. For candidates who opt for quotas, there will be vacancies reserved for affirmative actions, public school teachers and public agents, as per provided for in the notice. Grading will be based on test scores and affirmative action policies, when applicable. The test will be held on November 17, 2024.
Application requirements
To participate in the selection process for free courses to enter UFPI, candidates must have completed high school or be in the process of completing it by the enrollment date. Interested candidates must have access to the internet and a computer or mobile device to follow the activities remotely. The registration fee is R$60,00 for general competition and teachers, and R$30,00 for candidates who opt for affirmative action.

Registration is open until October 16, 2024 and must be completed exclusively through the UFPI website, at the address www.ufpi.br/copese.
