O Government of the State of Alagoas, through State Secretariat of Education (Seduc), is promoting an inclusive educational project, offering a free Brazilian Sign Language course (Pounds).
With 210 vacancies available, the course is an excellent opportunity for those interested in learning one of the most important languages for social inclusion in the country.
Classes will be held at Deaf People Assistance Center (CAS) Professor Joelina Cerqueira, a reference center located on Ernesto Gomes Maranhão Street, in Jatiúca.

Course details and start of classes
The programme of Pounds starts on the day February 17 and will be taught once a week, until July, totaling 60 hours of workload.

Classes not only introduce students to the fundamentals of Libras, but also include practical exercises that allow for the direct application of what has been learned in everyday scenarios.

Registration and enrollment
Registrations take place from 3 the 6 February, starting at 8 am, directly at the CAS headquarters. To enroll, it is necessary to present originals and copies of ID and CPF.
The minimum age required is 15 years. For minors, it is essential that registration is done by parents or legal guardians.
There is also the possibility of registering by proxy, which must be done in your own handwriting and accompanied by signatures in accordance with official documents.
