O the Ministry of Education (MEC): launches a new, free and completely online course, designed to train education and health professionals to implement restorative practices in the school environment.
In partnership with the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS) and the National Union of Municipal Education Directors (Undime), the program is a unique opportunity for those who wish to specialize in methods to build safe schools and promote a culture of peace in the country.

The course, entitled “Restorative Practices: Building Safe Schools and Promoting a Culture of Peace”, has a robust workload of 180 hours, structured to offer quality theoretical and practical training.
Intended for teachers, pedagogical coordinators, school managers and health professionals, the training's main objective is to create a network of facilitators in restorative practices, strengthening the prevention and fight against violence in Brazilian schools.
Registration is free and is carried out through the AVAMEC digital platform, and vacancies will be filled in the order of registration.

The training offered by the MEC aims to train professionals in a broad and detailed way, allowing them to learn about and practice restorative methods in their daily school life.
The content includes conflict mediation techniques, such as “restorative circles”, which encourage healthy dialogues and promote the peaceful resolution of disputes, always focusing on a positive educational environment.
According to the MEC, The course covers several modules that explore topics such as restorative justice, children's and adolescents' rights and building a peaceful school climate.

Complete and accessible curriculum structure
The curricular structure of the course was divided into four main modules, each with a specific focus on building essential skills in fostering a safe and welcoming environment:
Introductory Module (8 hours) – Provides an overview of restorative practices, restorative justice and the culture of peace, with welcoming concepts that highlight the importance of safe education.
Fundamental Knowledge Module (16 hours) – Module that explores the history and foundations of restorative justice. Here, participants come into contact with the rights of children and adolescents, and the role of ancestral wisdom in the peacemaking process.
Module Dialogues and Relationships in the School Environment (12 hours) – Focused on relationships and conflict management, this section deals with the articulation of networks and the construction of a positive school climate, using the circle as a disciplinary tool.
Practical Implementation Module (12 hours) – Focused on practical situations, it explores the role of the facilitator and applicable examples, such as case studies and strategies for creating belonging and peace.
Limited registrations and vacancies at MEC
Registration is now open at AVAMEC Platform, and there is a total of 10 thousand vacancies available, divided into two groups of 5 thousand participants.
