The Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN) has just launched a notice with thousands of vacancies, and registrations are about to begin.

From September 5, 2024, applications will be open for the selection process that offers 3.584 vacancies for mid-level technical courses integrated into high school.
The courses are distributed across 22 campuses from IFRN, and classes are scheduled to start in the first semester of 2025. Opportunities are spread across several areas of knowledge, attracting young people who wish to combine technical training with regular education.

According to the notice published by IFRN, registrations begin on September 5, 2024, from 14 pm, and run until November 1.
The process must be done via Candidate Area, on the website of the Foundation for Support of Education and Technological Development of RN (Funcern).
The registration fee is R$50, but those interested in requesting an exemption have until September 17 to do so. The exemption request is made by filling out a form, also available in the Candidate Area.

How the tests work at IFRN
The selection process will consist of three tests, covering Portuguese Language (20 multiple choice questions), Mathematics (20 multiple choice questions) e Written Text Production.
According to the notice, candidates will be able to access the Registration Card from October 14, 2024.
This document, which will be made available in the Candidate Area, indicates the test location and other essential information for the exam day. The tests will be held on October 20, 2024, and the final score will be released on December 20, 2024.
ProITEC Bonus: a differential to increase your chances
Students enrolled in ProITEC 2024 will also have an advantage in the selection process. According to the rules of the notice, the score obtained in the tests of Portuguese Language, Mathematics and Ethics and Citizenship will be used as bonus in the Selection Exam grades.
The bonus is calculated on the standardized grade of 100 points, being 4% for the Portuguese Language and Mathematics tests e 1% for Ethics and Citizenship.
Heteroidentification: mandatory process for self-declared black and indigenous people
Candidates who declare themselves black or indigenous in the IFRN selection process must go through the procedure heteroidentification, regulated by the Institute’s Superior Council (Consup/IFRN).
According to the IFRN resolution, the procedure will be conducted by a specialized committee, which will evaluate the candidate's self-declaration.
Self-identified black students, for example, will have to attend Local Heteroidentification Commission between the days 2 and 9 December 2024 to confirm the self-declaration and sign the image authorization.
The check will include a recording of the procedure, in which candidates must show the back of their hands and the profile of their face.
