The opportunity comes from the Instituto Federal do Sertão Pernambucano (IF Sertão-PE), which has just opened registrations for a free course. Want to know how to take advantage of this unique opportunity? Keep reading and find out all the details.

Golden opportunity for school managers and educators

IF Sertão-PE is offering 140 places on the Continuing Education Course in School Management, aimed at those who wish to specialize in the area of inclusive education.

The great advantage is that the course is completely distance learning, which allows candidates to adjust their schedules and complete the training without compromising other activities.

According to the notice published by the institution, the vacancies are intended for school managers, but if they are not filled, they will be offered to pedagogical coordinators, educational supervisors and other professionals linked to public education.

According to RENAFOR Program (National Teacher Training Network), with whom IF Sertão-PE has entered into a partnership to carry out this course, the focus is to promote a more inclusive education and ensure that educators and managers are prepared to deal with diversity within the classrooms.

Target audience and prioritization of vacancies

According to edict 62/2024, the vacancies will initially be filled by school managers who work in public education networks.

However, if the vacancies are not completely filled, opportunities will be given to inclusion coordinators, educational supervisors and even basic education teachers. In this way, the course not only trains managers, but also helps to strengthen the educational base of the entire system.

Course focused on educational inclusion

The course structure is designed to equip managers and educators with the tools needed to create a more inclusive educational environment.

The central objective is to ensure that all students, regardless of their limitations or special needs, can have access to quality education.

Among the main topics covered are the evolution of special education in Brazil, the legislation that guarantees rights to people with disabilities, and the different types of accessibility – physical, technological and communicational.

Check out the modules covered in the course

The training program is divided into several modules, which together add up to 90 hours of class, completely online. Some of the main topics to be worked on include:

  • History of special education in Brazil
  • Legislation on special education and human rights
  • Inclusive school management and diversity in the school environment
  • Pedagogical and architectural accessibility
  • Specialized educational assistance (AEE)

Classes start in October 01th, 2024 and go to December 21, 2024, with virtual meetings on Fridays, from 15 pm to 18 pm, via Google Meet.

How to secure your place on the inclusive school management course?

Candidates will be selected through an electronic draw if the number of applicants exceeds the number of available places.

To participate, interested parties must use the online form available on the IF Sertão-PE website. The final list of selected candidates will be published in descending order, directly on the institution's website. Those who miss the deadline or are not selected will still have the chance to participate in a future edition, if new classes are opened.

Is it worth specializing?

According to experts in the educational field, Brazil still faces major challenges when it comes to inclusive education.

Increasingly, managers and teachers need to be trained to deal with diversity and ensure that all students, regardless of their special needs, receive a complete education.

According to recent data, only 34% of school managers in Brazil have some specific training to deal with inclusion, which makes courses like this a key piece for the evolution of the Brazilian educational system.

Therefore, it is worth highlighting that the chance to qualify for free and receive a certificate recognized by the MEC does not appear every day.

O IF Sertao-PE, in partnership with the RENAFOR Program, offers comprehensive training in School Management with a focus on inclusive education, and the best part: all of this is online and free of charge. If you are a manager or educator and want to make a difference, this is your golden opportunity!
