Roche invests US$50 billion and expands units in the USA
Roche’s billion-dollar investment in the US will be distributed between the construction of new manufacturing facilities and research centers, as well as the modernization of existing infrastructure. In total, 13 new industrial and technological projects are planned, including the installation of:
- Um R&D center in Massachusetts focused on research into artificial intelligence, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases;
- One of the new gene therapy manufacturing plant state-of-the-art in Pennsylvania;
- One of the factory dedicated to continuous glucose monitoring in Indiana;
- Um production center with more than 84 thousand m² for innovative anti-obesity drugs;
- Significant expansions at existing Roche facilities in Arizona, Indiana, New Jersey and California.
The multinational reported that these measures aim to strengthen its capacity to meet the demand for rapid diagnostics, advanced therapies and personalized medicines in the United States.

More than 12 thousand jobs will be created directly and indirectly
According to the Roche statement, the more than 12 thousand new jobs will be distributed as follows:
- 1.000 direct vacancies in the company's new factories, laboratories and logistics units;
- 6.500 jobs in the construction sector, to make ongoing works viable;
- 4.500 indirect positions in areas such as technical support, supply chain, transportation and services.
The company also reported that there will be opportunities at different qualification levels, from production line workers to PhD researchers, data analysts, engineers and information technology professionals.
