Government of Minas is present at an event with the multinational Midea. The new Chinese factory in Minas Gerais will have an investment of more than half a million reais and create 500 jobs.
The investment works of new Midea factory, a Chinese multinational home appliances company, in Pouso Alegre, are advancing vigorously, revealing the first tangible signs after the laying of the project's cornerstone seven months ago. At the event held on November 22, the company officially inaugurated the construction site, marking a crucial step with the presence of high-ranking executives, including the CEO of Midea in Brazil, Felipe Costa, and the Secretary of State for Economic Development of Minas Gerais, Fernando Passalio. The expectation is that 500 jobs will be created and the factory will be completed in 2024.
With work on the new factory progressing, the company will be responsible for creating new job openings in the city.
The multinational Midea has already established its presence with two factories in Brazil and is making significant progress in its project in Happy landing, consolidating its contribution to the national economy.
The total estimated investment for the new facility reaches approximately R$600 million with the promise of generating around 500 direct jobs, providing an economic boost to the local community.

Fernando Passalio, highlighting the importance of employment as the best social strategy, highlighted that initiatives like Midea's represent advances not only for the city, but for the entire state of Minas.
He emphasized the need to invest in public policies that attract investments, resulting in the generation of new job vacancies, professional qualifications and, consequently, increased income.
Midea factory could be ready in 2024
The works, covering a vast area of 200 thousand square meters, are expected to be completed by 2024.
During this period, the factory will operate with two distinct production lines: one dedicated to the manufacture of refrigerators and the other focused on the production of clothes washers.
In this way, the investment not only solidifies Midea's presence in the country, but also signals a significant boost for the creation of new job vacancies, with a strategic vision of the new factory as a promising milestone for the local and state economic scenario.
