Ukraine calls on Brazilians to enlist as volunteers in the war against Russia. Ministry of Defense expands international recruitment campaign. See details
Ukraine's Defense Ministry has launched a campaign to recruit South American volunteers, including Brazilians, to join its army. The campaign comes in the third year of the war against Russia.
A video released by Ukrainian government states that the number of international volunteers in the war against Russia has increased 2,5 times. The material promises full support to the enlisted: food, clothing, protection, weapons and monthly pay.
During combat missions, the salary can reach $4.500 per month, which is equivalent to more than R$25. In addition, the training includes training to operate drones, act as a combat medic and handle modern weapons.

"During the period of participation in combat operations, the salary can reach US$4.500 per month (more than R$25 at the current exchange rate)“, the video said. “But the most important thing is training. Here we train drone operators, combat medics and operators of the most advanced weapons."
Rules for enlistment and selection process
On the campaign website, the Ukrainian government describes conscription as “a unique opportunity to get a profession that will bring income for the rest of your life".
To participate, you must be between 18 and 60 years old, physically fit, and have no criminal record or chronic illnesses. You must also have legal entry into the country. Ukraine does not issue visas and does not cover travel expenses.
The selection process takes place in stages. First, the candidate makes an initial application. Then, the documents are evaluated. The next stage includes interviews, which can be in person or online, and physical and psychological aptitude tests.
Positions offered include roles in artillery, tank operation and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technician.
Brazilian participation and risks of conflict
On the official website, testimonials from volunteers reinforce the campaign's appeal. One of the reports is from “JC”, a Brazilian with experience in the Kosovo war, who has been working in Ukraine since February 2023. He stated: “The most important thing is to be prepared” and added: “Together we are strong".
Despite the visibility of the initiative, it is still difficult to know how many Brazilians are involved in the conflict. According to the Itamaraty, 12 Brazilians perished in the war between February 2022 and December 2024.
At the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, more than 100 Brazilians volunteered, but current estimates indicate that only around 40 remain active in Ukrainian territory.

I have military enlistment, I am Brazilian and live in Brazil, I need information on how to go to war in Ukraine in 2025.
Look for videos on ytb friend, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccj4ih4cBpA The guy kind of explains how the process works, good luck friend.
Do you think that if Brazil were at war, Ukrainians would go there to defend it? Go volunteer and do something else. They don't even want to fight for their country. A bunch of idiots. I live with some of them and I know what they're like. It's sad to see a young Brazilian with his whole life ahead of him wanting to be cannon fodder in a country that doesn't value any foreigner.
