How do I enroll in free undergraduate courses?

Reservations for places on free courses at the Federal University to combat the shortage of qualified professionals are exclusive to those who have completed all the necessary High school in a public school in Brazil or equivalent school, such as community institutions that operate in the field of rural education, in partnership with the public authorities.

People who have, at some point, attended part of their secondary education at private schools (even with a scholarship) or at foreign schools will not be able to compete for the reserved places.

Within the 50% of places on free undergraduate courses in the reservation system, there are those aimed at people who self-declare as black or brown, low-income, recognized as quilombolas, recognized as indigenous and with disabilities.

To register for free courses at the Federal University, which aim to combat the shortage of qualified professionals, candidates must access the website between January 17 and 21 and register as indicated.

At this point, you must choose up to two course options, indicating the competition modality. The Ministry of Education (MEC) expects the result to be published on January 26th.

Differences between free courses at the Federal University

The Federal University has already published the so-called Term of Adhesion, which presents detailed information about courses and shifts, emphasis, duration, number of vacancies, supporting documentation and distribution of vacancies according to the Quota Law.

For 2025, with a focus on combating the shortage of professionals, the Federal University also reinforces another change: the equating of community schools that operate in the field of rural education, in partnership with the public authorities, to public schools, for the purposes of affirmative action policies.

In this way, students who finished high school in community schools will have the same right to places reserved for students in the public school system.
