UEMA opens 25 remote positions for distance learning tutors in inclusive education. Applications open until November 14, 2024!

The State University of Maranhão (UEMA) is hiring distance learning tutors with a focus on inclusive education. The selection process offers a monthly stipend of R$1.100,00, and applications are open until November 14.

If working from home with flexible hours and contributing to inclusive education in Maranhão sounds like the ideal opportunity for you, then this news is important.

A State University of Maranhao (UEMA) launched a selection process with home office vacancies for tutors who wish to work in improvement courses focused on special and inclusive education.

This unique opportunity allows for a workload of just 20 hours per week, allowing qualified professionals to play an essential role in supporting distance learning students and helping to promote accessible, quality education.

The selection, conducted by the Center for Technologies for Education (UEMAnet) at UEMA, seeks 25 tutors with experience in the educational field, who will have the mission of assisting in the development of students and, with this, strengthening the inclusive education policy in the state.

They selective process represents an opportunity for those who already have experience in education and are looking to enter a role of impact and purpose.

Vacancies for everyone: broad competition and quotas

The selection process includes 15 vacancies for general competition e 10 vacancies for candidates from specific groups, such as people with disabilities (PwD), black people, indigenous people and transgender/transvestite people.

According to information released by UEMA, this division reinforces the university's commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the selection of its employees.

For those interested, the institution demands some fundamental requirements for the application to be accepted.

Among them, it is mandatory to have a higher education diploma in bachelor's degree – whether in pedagogy, special education or in some related area of knowledge – in addition to postgraduate degree in inclusive education or special education.

Experience in basic education is considered essential, especially for those who have worked directly with students with disabilities.

Furthermore, knowledge in distance learning tools is essential, since the tutors' work will be carried out completely online.

Even if the work is remote, the candidate must reside in the state of Maranhão, since UEMA prioritizes local and regional development by hiring professionals from the state itself.

Remuneration and duties

The amount offered as a scholarship is $ 1.100,00 monthly, and this payment is conditional upon completion of the activities specified in the notice.

It is important to highlight that the scholarship does not constitute an employment relationship with UEMA, and is therefore a financial aid for the services provided as a tutor.

This means that payment is exclusive to the hours worked as an EAD tutor, without other associated rights, such as 13th salary or vacation.

Among the tutor's duties is the student guidance and the monitoring progress in the subjects of the improvement course.

These activities include supporting students so that they can overcome the difficulties of distance learning and integrate with the content offered by the university.

Selection criteria and steps

The selection process will be conducted in two distinct stages. In the first, candidates will have the academic training evaluated.

The undergraduate degree and postgraduate degree, mentioned previously, will be mandatory items at this stage.

Then, applicants who meet the academic requirements will be evaluated according to the relevant professional experience for the function.

UEMA prioritizes candidates who already have practical experience in basic education, especially in contexts involving students with special needs, as this experience adds greater capacity to adapt to the demands of inclusive education.

In addition to academic and professional qualifications, skills with digital platforms and distance learning methodologies will be a differentiator for candidates.

UEMA expects those selected to be proactive, with the ability to deal with the virtual environment and contribute to a complete learning experience for students.

Why be an online tutor?

UEMA sees the EAD tutor as a key piece for the success of distance education, especially in courses that address inclusive education.

According to the UEMA Center for Educational Technologies, the role of tutors goes beyond just providing guidance, as they are the mediators between the content offered by the university and the students' doubts.

For tutors, this represents a chance to grow in their careers, accumulating experience in the practice of active and inclusive methodologies, which have been gaining more and more space in educational institutions.

How to apply?

For those who want to participate in the selection process and work in this significant role, applications are open until November 14th, 2024 and must be carried out exclusively online.

Interested parties need to access the UEMAnet website (subscription link) and send the necessary documentation in PDF format. Access the full notice for more details: link to the notice.

This is your chance to contribute to inclusive education and be part of UEMA's team of tutors. Are you ready for this new career challenge?
