Have you ever thought about working from home, just 4 hours a day, and earning R$1.100/month? The Federal University of Roraima has vacancies for distance learning tutors in the Special Education course.

Federal University of Roraima (UFRR) opens a new selection process to form a reserve list of tutors for the Extension Course in Special Education from the Perspective of Inclusive Education.
The opportunity allows professionals with higher education to contribute to the advancement of inclusive education in Brazil.

Opportunity to work in inclusive education

In recent years, the EAD modality has been consolidated in the country, and the search for qualified professionals in the area is growing more and more.

According to the latest Higher Education Census, carried out by the National Institute of Studies and Educational Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP), enrollments in distance learning courses grew by more than 400% in the last decade.
This transformation in teaching reflects the need for professionals prepared to deal with this new educational reality.

With this in mind, UFRR, in partnership with the Open University of Brazil (UAB) and the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), is investing in the qualification of tutors who will work in distance learning.

Those selected will receive a grant of R$1.100 per month to work remotely, with a workload of 20 hours per week.

Who can apply?

To become a tutor for the Special Education extension course, it is necessary to meet some mandatory criteria.

Candidates must have a higher education degree in any field, be available to work 20 hours per week and be proficient in technological tools.

Furthermore, the university implemented an inclusion policy in the selection process.

Following CAPES Ordinance No. 309/2024, 25% of the vacancies in the reserve list will be reserved for black, mixed-race, indigenous, disabled, transgender and transvestite candidates.

The measure aims to promote equity in the academic environment and ensure diversity in teaching.

How will the tutors act?

The extension course will have a 120-hour workload and will be carried out 100% online.

The activities will take place synchronously and asynchronously, using the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA) of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG).

Tutors will play a fundamental role in monitoring students, being responsible for:

  • Mediate communication between students and teachers;
  • Monitor the performance of students;
  • Assist teachers in implementing pedagogical activities;
  • Ensure student engagement, clarifying doubts and encouraging participation;
  • Carry out assessments and prepare periodic reports.

Selection process: criteria and scoring

The selection will be carried out in a single stage:
curriculum analysis.
Candidates' scores will be defined based on the following criteria:

  • Graduation diploma: 10 points;
  • Postgraduate, specialization or improvement in the area of Special Education: 15 points;
  • Experience as a teacher in Basic Education: 0,5 points per year of service;
  • Participation in Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous Studies Centers (NEAB/NEABI): 0,5 points per year of service;
  • Previous experience in Distance Education: 0,5 points per year of service.

To be approved, the candidate must achieve at least 50 points in the curricular evaluation.

Selection process schedule

Candidates must pay attention to the selection process dates.
Check the schedule:

  • Publication of the notice: 18/02/2025
  • Application period: 25/02/2025 a 13/03/2025

Distance learning: a model on the rise

The growth of distance learning in Brazil has been driven by the need for accessibility and flexibility.

In addition to expanding enrollments, the modality has been essential in guaranteeing learning opportunities for people who face difficulties in accessing face-to-face education.

Inclusive education, in turn, has been one of the pillars of the country's educational policies.

UFRR's proposal seeks not only to train tutors to work in the distance learning modality, but also to train professionals to guarantee accessibility and inclusion for students with special needs.

How to apply for the chance to be a tutor?

Those interested in participating in the selection process must register exclusively online, at February 25th and tomorrow, March 13th, through the official UFRR website:
https://ensino.nead.ufrr.br/site/index.php/formularios-online.

This is an excellent opportunity for those who want to work in distance education and contribute to more accessible and inclusive education.
If you meet the requirements, don't miss this chance and apply by the deadline!
