ABPIP delivers proposals for the oil and gas sector to presidential candidates that involve Petrobras and other Associations

Document contains suggestions from independent producers for the continuity of actions such as the Petrobras, Reate and Promar divestment program

The Brazilian Association of Independent Producers of Oil and Gas (ABPIP) delivered this week to those responsible for the campaigns of candidates for the Presidency of the Republic a document containing proposals aimed at building an efficient agenda aimed at the oil and gas sector, based on the pillars of transparency, speed and simplification, seeking to strengthen of the sector and increase the consequent contribution in the generation of employment and income for the country.

In addition to explaining the role of independents in the oil and gas sector, the document brings suggestions involving topics such as the Petrobras Divestment Program, continuity of actions established in the REATE and PROMAR programs, exploration and production of unconventional reservoirs, licensing environment, the restructuring of the ANP and recommendations for greater efficiency in the Novo Mercado de Gas.

According to Anabal Santos Jr., Executive Secretary of ABPIP, the Association's objective is to promote a more competitive environment with the regulatory simplification and speed that current times impose. “The oil and natural gas sector is an important driver of the Brazilian economy, due to the massive investments and socioeconomic impact it provides. To give you an idea, in the exploration and production sector alone, investments of around US$ 2023 billion are projected for the period from 2030 to 175 and the generation of 570 direct and indirect jobs each year”, he explained. .

Also according to the executive, independent companies have been showing a high potential and operational efficiency in the exploration and production of oil fields at sea and on land and their performance is of great importance for Brazil, with the collection of royalties, taxes and job creation.
