The scheduled stoppage of the Mataripe Refinery will be essential for new operational improvements that will guarantee more quality in production. The new contract between Acelen and Tenenge provides for the provision of state-of-the-art maintenance services for the structure.

In recent days, the national fuel market won another large contract in Brazil. This is the agreement between the companies Acelen and Tenenge for the provision of maintenance services at the scheduled shutdown of the Mataripe Refinery, in Bahia. Acelen intends to bring more quality in the production of derivatives from oil in the building. For this, it will rely on Tenenge's cutting-edge technology during the development of the project.

Tenenge will be responsible for providing maintenance services at the stop scheduled by Acelen at the Mataripe Refinery

The company Tenenge has just signed an important contract for the Brazilian oil and natural gas sector, this time with the company Acelen.

The manager of the Mataripe Refinery, one of the largest fuel refining assets in the national territory, intends to take advantage of Tenenge's operational services over the next few months.

The contract establishes the provision of maintenance services for the shutdown scheduled by Acelen at the refinery located in the state of Bahia.

The oil and natural gas processing and improvement plant is undergoing a modernization and structural renovation project.

With this, Acelen seeks to bring more quality in the production of products and further expand its presence in the global market.

In this way, Tenenge's maintenance services will ensure even more operational quality to achieve this goal.

“Tenenge's works enter the new stage of scheduled shutdowns, to carry out improvement services in special units and in various equipment, allowing an operation with greater energy efficiency, one of Acelen's ESG agendas”, commented Tenenge in a statement.

Acelen has been in charge of the Mataripe Refinery for just a few months, but is looking to take advantage of this moment to expand its presence in the market

As a reminder, the Mataripe Refinery and its logistical assets, including the Madre de Deus Terminal, were sold by Petrobras in 2021 to the Mubadala group, within the state's divestment plan.

However, during December 2021, Acelen, created by Mubadala Capital and an asset management subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company, took control of the refinery.

Since then, it has been investing in expansion strategies for the Mataripe Refinery in the domestic market. The contract for the provision of maintenance services with Tenenge is only part of this project.

During the month of October, Acelen announced the start of selling butane to the Brazilian market, following the strategy of expanding the company's activities based on the diversification of its production line.

The vice-president of Commercial and Trading at the company, Cristiano da Costa, explained at the time that “Our expectation is to replace 10% of this market with Brazilian products. Acelen is in full condition to compete with a quality product, more regular supply and accessible for the Brazilian market.”

In this way, the company has been reinforcing its commitment to diversify the portfolio of the Mataripe Refinery and make it the major asset for processing oil derivatives in Brazil.

However, for this to happen, a series of structural reforms and operational modernization will be necessary, which will take place during the maintenance shutdown with Tenenge.
