The new monthly production record in the Búzios field was set in June, when the asset operated by Petrobras reached an average production of 616 barrels of oil per day

Last week, it was announced that the Búzios field, located in the Santos Basin pre-salt, reached a new monthly production record during the month of June. According to information shared by Petrobras, the asset achieved an average production of 616 barrels of oil per day.

The value represents an operational efficiency of 95%, thus being the highest average monthly production volume ever achieved by the field since the beginning of its operations in April 2018.

Of the total volume produced, 91,7% belong to Petrobras, that is, 564 thousand barrels of oil per day were generated by the company. The other partners, in turn, account for 8,3% of production (51 barrels of oil per day). The record result was achieved thanks to the operation of four platforms in the field, namely: P-74; P-75; P-76 and P-77.

Petrobras intends to start operating a new platform in the Búzios field in 2023

Next year, Petrobras also intends to start operating the fifth production unit in the area, the FPSO Almirante Barroso. The vessel is expected to produce up to 150 barrels of oil per day, in addition to processing up to 6 million m³ of gas.

In addition, with the new platform, it is expected that the Búzios field will reach the mark of 33% of the oil production obtained by Petrobras, in the year 2026.

Recently, the state-owned production development director, João Henrique Rittershaussen, pointed out that Petrobras currently has 11 FPSOS in the execution phase. Furthermore, there are two other units under contract, Búzios 9 (P-80) and Búzios 10 (P-82).

Under this bias, the executive added that the proposals were received in the month of May and that, until then, the prices of lot A were closed, which aims to contract the P-80, for Búzios 9. on the other hand, is in the process of negotiation. In this competition, the best bids were submitted by Keppel Shipyard.
