How is the chocolate market in Brazil?

The Brazilian chocolate market size is estimated at USD 3,38 billion in 2024 and is expected to reach USD 4,15 billion by 2029, growing at a CAGR of 4,22% during the forecast period 2024-2029. The chocolate market has been impacted by low sales volume due to COVID-19 pandemic, including supply-side issues related to quality and certification.

Thus, the interruption in the supply chain of raw materials, followed by lockdown, resulted in an increasing number of specialist stores remaining closed for a long period and a reduction in the volume of consumption of premium chocolates.

According to data from the Brazilian Chocolate Industry Association, more than 75% of the Brazilian population consumes chocolate, and 35% of the Brazilian population prefers chocolate to any food or drink.

They won't come back, they've left that market. Just like McDonald's, which no longer sells ice cream.

Unfortunately, this happens with many products. They start by making a quality product and then replace the good quality raw materials with low quality ingredients. This is called greed and a way of cheating the consumer. Some countries are so serious about this that consumers don't even buy the product. (They boycott it.)

Nestlé's chocolates, Menino Lacta, are no longer as tasty and delicious as before. They are horrible and come in much smaller quantities than before.
