After the year 2022 was marked by consecutive increases in fuel prices, Petrobras announces a reduction in the price of diesel and relieves truck drivers' pockets
After the average price of a liter of gasoline in Brazil is again above R$ 5 last week (from January 29 to February 4, according to ANP data), the Petrobras has good news for consumers: As of yesterday, 08/02, the average sale price of diesel for distributors went from R$ 4,50 to R$ 4,10 per liter, a reduction of R$ 0,40 per liter, relieving the pockets of Brazilians, especially truck drivers!
According to the state, the reduction in the price of diesel has as its main guideline the search for a balance between Petrobras' values in the national and international markets, considering the main supply alternatives for our customers and the necessary market share for the optimization of assets.
The company, when setting prices for oil products and natural gas in the domestic market, seeks to avoid passing on the volatility of the situation in quotations and the exchange rate, while preserving a healthy competitive environment under the terms of current legislation.

Considering the mandatory blend of 90% diesel A and 10% biodiesel for the composition of diesel sold at service stations, Petrobras' share of the consumer price will be, on average, R$ 3,69 for each liter sold at the pump.
Contrary to diesel, the value of gasoline became more expensive and promises to skyrocket in March with the end of the ICMS ceiling
The weekly surge occurred due to the increase in the sale price of gasoline from Petrobras to distributors, which went from R$ 3,08 to R$ 3,31 per liter, an increase of R$ 0,23.
Furthermore, the ceiling Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS) on fuels has its days numbered.
Transparency is key
In order to contribute to price transparency and better understanding by society, Petrobras publishes on its website information regarding the formation and composition of fuel prices for consumers.
