A virtual journey into the world of welding
The dominant presence of Air Liquide, a global leader in gases, technologies and services for industry and healthcare, does not go unnoticed at Intermach 2023, the International Trade Show for Technology, Machinery, Equipment and Services for the Metal-Mechanical Industry. The new? A Welding Simulator in virtual reality that revolutionizes the way in which the Industrial Welding sector is explored. The stage for all this innovation is the city of Joinville (SC), between the 11th and 14th of July.
The evolution of the welding experience
Identifying a gap in the market, Air Liquide developed the simulator with a clear objective: to demonstrate the subtleties and peculiarities of gas applications in welding processes. Until now, available simulators have focused mainly on showing how welding machines work, neglecting the fundamental role of gases in these processes.
Air Liquide's Welding Simulator goes further, immersing users in a virtual reality environment reminiscent of the most modern video games. The innovative platform offers nine distinct exercises covering all welding steps. From preparation, configuring the types and percentages of gases for each application, to the final welding step, users can monitor and evaluate their own performance.

Premium Gases for Soldering on Display
But Air Liquide doesn't stop there. The company will also take the opportunity to present its premium line of welding gases, ARCAL™. These gases, of high purity, precision in mixtures and constant homogeneity, are based on argon and include different proportions of carbon dioxide (CO2) according to their purpose of use.
Applications range from stainless steel welding to high-speed robotic welding – typical of the automotive industry – and welds that require greater resistance. Fully compliant with ISO 14175 and AWS A5.32M, these gases and mixtures are meticulously prepared to meet the highest performance standards.
At the end of the day, Air Liquide's commitment to innovation and quality is evident at Intermach 2023, not only raising the bar for the welding industry, but also creating new avenues for the education and training of professionals in the field.
