In a meeting as mayor of the city, Aker Solutions announces the installation of a Center of Excellence for construction and assembly

Aker Solutions has just raised Macaé's morale in such a way that no one would have imagined this big surprise. Company representatives in a meeting with the mayor of the city, Dr. Aluízio, on Thursday (17), went to agree terms for setting up a construction and assembly plant. This is because Macaé is strategically located in the logistical and economic eye of Norueguesa's activities in the Campos Basin, as the city already has all the infrastructure for the offshore sector ready.

From the perspective and judgment of the mayor, this new venture by Aker will generate around a thousand jobs, in addition to leaving taxes in the city that could reach more than 24 million. According to Aker Solutions, demanding projects in full expansion until 2021, which include offshore units from Petrobras, Chevron and Statoil. These 3 companies will demand services in the Campos and Santos Basin.

Mayor and Aker met on the 17th to discuss the implementation of the Center of Excellence project

The last 4 years have not been good for the city due to the economic recession that hit it, in addition to many other cities that have most of their income based on the oil industry. But some recent events have been rebuilding the city, check out some of them:

  1. Oil and gas companies that have been hiring since April
  2. Consultancy classified Macaé as one of the best cities to do business
  3. Expropriation of an area of the city for road works in Porto do Barreto
  4. Macaé Airport already has works released to receive commercial flights from all over Brazil
