Aker Solutions has received an order from ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Petroleum Company) to supply subsea umbilicals for the Dalma gas development project located in the UAE in the shallow waters of the Persian Gulf.
The executive director of Aker Solutions said in a statement “This is ADNOC's first subsea umbilical award in the United Arab Emirates and the first subsea award for Aker Solutions in the Persian Gulf,” said Luis Araújo, :. “We are delighted with the opportunity to further develop our relationship with DNAOC and demonstrate our umbilical capabilities in the region.”
The value of the contract is around NOK 700 million. The scope includes four steel tube umbilicals totaling over 100 kilometers. The umbilical system will provide power supply, communication services and chemical injection fluids. It will connect subsea equipment to three new header platforms and link surface equipment located on the offshore control platform to equipment located on land.
The Aker Solutions facility in Mobile, Alabama, USA will support the design, engineering and fabrication of the umbilical system. Work will begin immediately and will be completed in the first quarter of 2021. The order will be booked in the third quarter of 2019.
