After the entry of an international group into the shareholding structure —Glencore, which acquired 78% of the company— ALE takes another step towards expanding its operations in the country's fuel market. To achieve this goal, human capital is one of the main assets of the fourth largest fuel distributor. In this regard, ALE launched the 2019 Trainee Program.
- Students who graduated between July 2017 and July 2019 can apply for the 2019 ALE Combustíveis Trainee Program. The application period runs until June 16 and admissions are scheduled for August this year.
- Among the prerequisites for vacancies are advanced English and the ability to assume any strategic position in the company. The candidate must also be available for travel and mobility. Those selected, in principle, will work at ALE's units in Natal or São Paulo, and may be relocated to another location in Brazil during their career.
Applications must be made through the program's website by clicking here. Those interested in vacancies must participate in a selection process, consisting of a series of elimination stages. The first stage will be registration, in which candidates will take logical reasoning and English tests. At this stage, a cultural fit will also be completed to identify alignment with the company's policy.
Then, the approved candidates will participate in the selfie stage, in which they will record a presentation video and, after being classified, they will participate in the game stage, to be evaluated, in a virtual game, the individual and collective competences of the candidates. The final stage will be held in person and will have the participation of the company's directors, where trainees will participate in panels in Natal or São Paulo.

According to the executive manager of Human and Organizational Development at ALE, Vladimir Barros, the objective of the company's Trainee Program is to identify potential leaders who can develop according to the company's values and become highly qualified professionals. “We are looking for new talents who can occupy prominent positions in the company, who have an entrepreneurial profile, strategic business vision, commitment, ability to innovate, teamwork, leadership potential and focus on the customer”, he explains.
About the opportunities for advancement in the company, Barros says that around 90% of his trainees make a career in the company. “Our intention is to develop them during the programs so that they can present technical and behavioral training to take on new challenges. In addition, we have several actions aimed at the development and integration of professionals, such as the job rotation process, developed within the company's trainee program, which offers new employees a complete view of all sectors and procedures”, he adds.
Expansion plans
ALE's expansion plans are robust for this year. The company intends to reach a turnover of BRL 15 billion in 2019, an amount about 20% higher than that registered in 2018. To reach the goal, ALE will invest around BRL 167 million, which will be allocated to expansion modernization and creation of value for the ALE Network.
Investing in technology is an important strategy for ALE to expand its business this year. One of the initiatives to conquer new jobs and increase the relationship with the ALE Network is the “ALE Combustíveis” application. The app is aimed at ALE stations, white flag resellers and business customers. On the platform, customers can place orders for the company's products and monitor the progress of deliveries, check daily fuel prices, access Clube ALE, receive chat service and access order history, among other options.
In the Marketing area, investments in sponsorships are also being resumed. The company is one of the official sponsors of the Full Time Sports Stock Car team, which has Rubens Barrichello as a driver. In addition, the company is one of the sponsors of Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, one of the biggest teams in the world sports scene.
“Therefore, candidates for the 2019 Trainee Program must be in line with these company growth goals. We are looking for collaborators who are committed to these strategies and who will certainly rise to great heights”, concludes Vladimir Barros.
