The J&F group company, Amber Energy, is about to become the fourth largest natural gas generation park in Brazil with the acquisition of the Araucaria (484 MW) in Paraná. The transaction was conducted by Amber, which signed a contract with Copel to acquire 81,2% of the plant for R$320,7 million. With this acquisition, the company will strengthen its position in the gas power generation market in Brazil.

A Amber already owns the UTE Cuiabá plants, located in Mato Grosso, and UTE Uruguaiana, located in Rio Grande do Sul, on the border with Argentina.
