A valve problem in one of the beer tanks may have caused the explosion at the Ambev factory. Firefighters cordoned off the incident area.

Last Friday night (25/09) an explosion occurred in one of the fermentation tanks at the Ambev Brewery, in Juatuba, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, scaring employees and neighbors of the factory. Some said they felt the earth shake at the moment of the explosion. Ambev inaugurates can factory due to increased demand for drinks during the pandemic.

According to reports from the Fire Department Military, there were no injuries. Due to the incident, the Ambev factory had its activity temporarily suspended, but Ambev reported that it has already resumed its normal production pace.

Ambev employees reported, according to the Fire Department, that the noise at the time of the explosion was very loud. Despite this, Firefighters reported that there was no damage to the structure of the damaged tank and that the causes of the explosion will be examined and investigated.

A beer tank exploded at the Ambev factory in Juatuba, in the Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Region. The incident took place at the end of this Friday night (25) and temporarily paralyzed the production of the drink on site.

Workers who were at the factory at the time of the explosion reported hearing a very loud noise. They also said that the fire alarm rang and led to the start of confusion in the unit. Some of them went to the Ambev entrance.

In an audio that went viral on social media, one of the Ambev employees who was at the factory at the time of the explosion reports the scare. He did not identify himself. “I thought everything was going to fall on us, God forbid. I've never been so scared. My legs are shaking even now,” he said.

According to the Fire Department, the problem was solved by the company itself, with no apparent damage to the structure. According to the military, no one was injured. The area near the tank has been cordoned off. After inspection by the Fire Department, the factory returned to normal operations.
