A Petrobras plans to increase the installed oil production capacity by more than three times in the Búzios field, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos basin, by the end of the decade. The forecast is that the volume will jump from the current 600 barrels of oil per day, with four platforms, to 2 million barrels per day with the installation of seven more units.
Construction of the new platforms has already started in Búzios

Stay on top of the production capacity of one of the new platforms
For example, the construction contract for the P-83 platform, the 11th to be installed in the Búzios field, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin, was signed with the company Keppel Shipyard Limited by Petrobras.
The P-83 will be capable of producing up to 225 barrels of oil per day, processing up to 12 million cubic meters of gas per day and storing over 1,6 million barrels of oil. The project provides for the interconnection of 15 wells, eight of which are oil producers and seven are injectors.
Petrobras said that the construction of the P-83 will be carried out by shipyards in Singapore, China and Brazil, and will reach the percentage of local content of 25%.
The platform will start production in 2027 and will contribute to increasing the installed capacity of the Buzios field, from the current 600 bpd to 2 million bpd.
