Projects from the A-6 auction finally have the approval for the construction of 15 plants by Aneel, with promises of thousands of jobs and economic injection
Aneel, regulator of the electricity sector in Brazil, approved on Tuesday (03) 283,45 MW of successful projects in the A-6 auction, held on October 18, 2019. In all, eight wind power plants, two biomass, four small and one large hydroelectric plant received the green light. The tender awarded power purchase agreements (PPA) to projects that will start supplying on January 1, 2025.

Aneel has already approved 82 projects out of a total of 91 winning projects. The tender contracted more than 250,14 million MWh of energy at an average price of BRL 176,09 per MWh (US$39 / EUR35). Nine projects are still under review due to pending documentation, Aneel stressed.
