Aiming to accelerate the development of the initiative and guarantee benefits to the national fuel sector, the ANP granted Petrobras the necessary authorization for the state-owned company to start the pre-operation of Gaserj, which will be destined for Polo GasLub.

The National Petroleum Agency (ANP) announced in the publication of the Official Journal of the Union (DOU) on Wednesday, (31/08), the granting of the necessary authorization for Petrobras to start the pre-operation of the Guapimirim Gas Pipeline — Comperj I ( Gaserj). Now, the state company will have a total of 90 days with the validity of the document, but faces the problems of atrasos in the development of the Polo GasLub project, which is the destination of Gaserj.

Petrobras received authorization from the ANP to start the pre-operation of Gaserj and will have a total of 90 days with the validity of the document to accelerate the project

The national oil, gas and other fuels sector received good news in the publication of this week's Official Gazette, as the ANP disclosed the pre-operation authorization of Gaserj for the company Petrobras.

The state organization will be able to continue the project now and will have a total of 90 days with the validity of the document to proceed with its pre-operation on the gas pipeline.

Authorization for the pre-operation of Gaserj is available for public consultation at link and you can check out more details about the ANP concession to Petrobras. The Gas Pipeline has a total territorial extension of 11 km and a maximum flow capacity of 7 million cubic meters per day.

The line originates from the Cabiúnas — Reduc Gas Pipeline, owned by NTS, in Cachoeiras de Macacu (RJ). In addition, the destination of the gas pipeline will be the Polo GasLub (formerly Comperj), in Itaboraí (RJ).

For this, the natural gas produced in the pre-salt region of the Santos Basin by the state-owned company will go through the outflow process following the Route 3 gas pipeline route to the GasLub Pole, where it will be processed.

Soon after that, the gas will be transported by Gaserj to the NTS network. Despite this, Petrobras is facing the problem of the delay and complications of the Polo GasLub project to start operating the transport of fuels, due to the problems with the Kerui-Método consortium.

Pre-operation of Gaserj is authorized by the ANP, but the state-owned company faces problems with Kerui-Método in the development of the Polo GasLub project

Although the ANP has granted the necessary authorization for the pre-operation development of Gaserj, Petrobras will still face the problems of project of Polo GasLub in the midst of this scenario. This is because the Rota 3 Project, which includes the Rota 3 gas pipeline and the UPGN at Polo GasLub, is highly delayed in the state-owned company's schedule for the initiative.

Kerui-Método, the consortium responsible for the construction project for the gas processing unit, recently carried out a massive layoff of more than 2 employees, thus bringing a series of impacts to the structure's work schedule.

Thus, the oil company is analyzing a new date for the completion of the project, which was previously scheduled for the second half of the year and, according to an official statement from the state-owned company in recent weeks, “Petrobrás made every effort to avoid the stoppage and is evaluating actions to minimize impacts on completion of works. The new estimated date for entry into operation of the asset will be disclosed after completion of the relevant assessments”.

In addition, the company responded to rumors of problems with the contract with Kerui-Método and said that it has all processes up to date with the consortium.

In this way, the development of the pre-operation of Gaserj, destined for Polo GasLub, will be the main focus of the company, while it does not finalize the problems with the consortium.
