The director-president of the autarchy, João Rufino Júnior, was in Rio de Janeiro, from April 4th to 7th, holding a series of alignment meetings with entities that carry out work aimed at regulating the natural gas market.
The manager participated in meetings with representatives of the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), from Association of Large Industrial Energy Consumers and Free Consumers (Embrace), da Brazilian Association of Independent Oil and Natural Gas Producers (ABPIP) and the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV).
Arsepam's objectives with the entities
With the ANP, Joao Rufino proposed a term of technical cooperation for the exchange of experiences between the institutions. The proposal was well received by the board of the federal regulatory body, and new conversations on the matter will soon be scheduled.
With FGV, a possible collaboration for the institutional and organizational development of the arsepam, as well as the regulatory council integrated into the state autarchy. The regulation of Law nº 5.420/2021 was also debated, which is the Natural Gas Law, as there are devices that need to be subject to regulation. FGV is an important partner in this process.

With the other bodies, the arsepam sought to expand dialogue and strengthen the relationship, as well as confirm the commitment to consult them, whenever appropriate, for the processes of creating regulations.
The importance of work for the Amazon
Arsepam's work directly impacts these agencies and it is important that they can be heard and, thus, build a regulatory stock and a normative framework that, based on the assumption in the Natural Gas Law, also contribute to the growth of the free market and to the consolidation of Amazon economic development.
ABPIP's legal consultant, Daniela Santos, reinforced during the meeting that the sharing of information is essential to understand the particularities of the Amazon and the points that require differentiated regulation norms, taking into account the condition of the State.
