Understand about Brazilian beef exports
Brazil is one of the largest producers of beef in the world, and decades of investment in technology not only increased productivity, but also improved the quality of Brazilian products, making them competitive and accessible to markets in over 150 countries.
In 2015, China had the largest cattle herd in the world (209 million head), the second largest consumer of beef (38,6 kg/resident/year) and the second largest exporter of beef (1,9 million tons), with a slaughter volume of more than 39 million head.
That is, 80% of the beef consumed by Brazilians is produced in the country – an industrial processing park that slaughters around 200 head of cattle per day. It is responsible for 6% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) or 30% of the agribusiness GDP, with a turnover of more than R$ 400 billion, a growth of almost 45% in the last 5 years.
