In Minas Gerais, a major investment in the solar energy market was established by the company Brookfield Energia Renovável with the Spanish multinational Solatio. The contract signed between the companies will allow the construction of 20 solar parks in the state.

The investment value is R$ 3 billion for the construction of a solar complex that will occupy an area of more than 3 thousand hectares in the city of Janaúba, Minas Gerais. The installed capacity of the complex is 1,2 GWp by Brookfield Energia Renovável.
Construction work is expected to start in 2020 and it is estimated that completion will be in 2022 or 2023. In all, there will be 20 solar energy parks, in the final stages of development, which should supply approximately 1,2 million homes in Minas Gerais.

The contract between the companies for a solar energy complex in Minas Gerais is subject to the usual closing conditions, and should be finalized by the fourth quarter of 2020, according to a statement to Portal Solar.
