After Petrobras announced this week an increase in the price of diesel at refineries, rumors of new truck drivers' stoppages leave the Senate apprehensive
With the potential new truck drivers' strike, the Senate approves the provisional measure to continue with the diesel discount, and it was approved today (5). The discount on diesel will remain until the last day of December, remaining only for President Michel Temer to sign the text. As this refers to the provisional measure, the text is already in force, lacking only an alignment between the Chamber and the Senate to remain in force.
In the deliberate measure, for every 1 liter of diesel, the government will subsidize R$ 0,30 from the public coffers, that is, one way or another, the amount will come out of the taxpayer and will cost around R$ 9,5 billion. The intention of the measure is to reduce the value of diesel at filling stations.

Amidst a new rumor of paralysis of the category, the government and Congress rushed to approve this week the measure, which would expire on October 10. With activities paralyzed for almost a month, due to the electoral campaign, the House and Senate resumed work this week to vote on projects.
As the plenary sessions were interrupted due to the electoral campaign, the voting activities for this specific project had to be hastily resumed, but after the deliberation of this project, they were paralyzed again and will only return on October 9, after of the first round of elections. It is worth noting that marine Diesel is not included in the discount, which led to misinterpretations in the latest MP on this clause.
