Repairs to support service vessels for the national oil sector will be essential to strengthen the company's operations in Brazil. The BNDES intends to boost Bram Offshore's business and contribute to the domestic market with financing.

The company Bram Offshore Transportes Marítimos Ltda, from Niterói, achieved this last week a great advance for its expansion in the offshore national market. This is because the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) announced last Tuesday (11/10) the approval of a R$ 83 million loan for the company. The amount will be applied to repair work on seven vessels in the company's support services fleet for the oil sector.

BNDES approves millionaire financing and boosts fleet of Bram Offshore support service vessels

The BNDES has been increasingly seeking to boost the national oil and natural gas market, taking a big step towards this initiative this week.

The bank announced a multimillion-dollar loan for the support services company for maritime operations, Bram Offshore.

Within the amount of R$ 83 million, the company will carry out repair works on seven vessels in its national fleet, in addition to the conversion of another five vessels for the offshore sector.

The amount will be granted with funds from the Merchant Marine Fund (FMM), aiming to ensure even greater growth in the market for support services for oil production in the national territory.

At the end of July, the maritime support fleet in Brazilian waters totaled 411 vessels, of which 375 were under the Brazilian flag and 36 under the foreign flag, according to data from the Brazilian Association of Maritime Support Companies (Abeam).

In addition, the Federal Government has been announcing that the share of support services is increasingly expanding in the country.

For this reason, the BNDES financing for Bram Offshore will bring new directions for the growth of these operations in the production of oil and natural gas.

All repair and conversion work on the company's vessels will take place at the Navship Shipyard

In addition to ensuring good growth for Bram Offshore in the national oil market and support services for the coming years, the BNDES also seeks to strengthen business with domestic shipyards.

Therefore, all work on the company's vessels will be carried out at Estaleiro Navship Ltda., in the municipality of Navegantes, Santa Catarina.

The bank will then be able to strengthen relations with the shipyard, while contributing to the improvement of Bram Offshore's operations.

“Currently, the segment of offshore maritime support vessels is experiencing a resumption of growth, with new hires by oil companies and an increase in the fleet in operation in the country. Between September of last year and May 2022 alone, 20 new vessels were added to the fleet operating in Brazil, reaching a total of 410 vessels, including national and foreign ones”, highlighted the BNDES.

Bram Offshore intends to take advantage of the bank's financing to introduce new businesses in the national territory with the improvement of its support services.
