The vacancies offered at the Brasfels shipyard in Angra dos Reis are for the positions of welder, scaffolding supervisor, plumber, boilermaker and TIG welder.

According to the Sidicato dos Metalúrgicos de Angra dos Reis, the Naval industry is finally starting to show signs of recovery, after six years in crisis and at least 10 employees fired. The Brasfels shipyard in Angra dos Reis alone opened more than 1700 job openings, and the best part is that there are still positions available. Opportunities these, which are being celebrated by those who need to return to the job market.

According to the union, vacancies offered are for the positions of welder, scaffold supervisor, plumber, boilermaker and TIG welder. They are vacancies for temporary contracts, but they help those who are unemployed, in addition to the chance of a future contract renewal.

Mass layoffs began in 2014, due to the lack of payment by Sete Brasil – the company that hired the shipyard to build 6 rigs for Petrobras, and was later investigated by Operation Lava Jato.

At the time, around 10 people were employed working on the platforms, since then, that number has been reduced to 1200 employees.

With the offer of temporary vacancies, the number has already risen to 1700 contractors. Despite being very low, it already brings hope for improvement in the city.

“Anything that comes to add value to the municipality, we gladly accept. Not only Brasfels, but other activities that can help grow the city's economy, is very welcome, because the population wants to generate jobs and income”. said a resident of the region.

For those looking for a place in the job market, this could be a good time. Anyone who wants to know more about job opportunities at the Brasfels shipyard can call the number (24) 3361-2130
