Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M), through its subsidiaries in Singapore and Brazil, has secured two contracts worth a combined value of around S$73m ($52,4Mn) from MODEC.

Keppel Shipyard was contracted to manufacture, complete and integrate the topside modules and mooring support structure for Modec's Floating Storage and Offloading Unit (FPSO) for projects in Brazil. As everyone knows, its subsidiary representative is the Brasfels shipyard, located in Angra dos Reis, RJ. Keppel said on Wednesday that components for the modules and structure are scheduled to arrive in Q15 3 for completion, as well as integration and installation with the FPSO hull, which is expected at the shipyard in Q2020.

With delivery scheduled for the 2nd quarter of 2021, the FPSO will be equipped to process 90.000 barrels of oil and 75 million standard cubic feet of gas per day and with a storage capacity of 700.000 barrels of oil.

In Brazil, Keppel O&M's BrasFELS shipyard has been awarded a contract to manufacture a topside module for an FPSO for the Búzios field in the Santos Basin, off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Shipbuilding

Works on the FPSO, named after FPSO Almirante Barroso MV32, should start in the 3rd quarter of 2020 at the BrasFELS shipyard in Angra dos Reis, with delivery scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2021.

This marks the seventh FPSO-related project undertaken by BrasFELS for MODEC.

When completed, the vessel will be capable of processing 150.000 barrels of oil and 212 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, with a minimum storage capacity of 1,4 million barrels of oil.

Anthony Quinn, President and COO of MODEC Offshore Production Systems (Singapore), said: “While low oil prices amid a global pandemic mark a difficult time for the industry, we are confident that there is continued long-term energy demand. the global economy prepares for recovery”.
