Construction Progress: 27% completed with completion projected for 2026
The construction of the Guaratuba Bridge is going full steam ahead. According to the October 2024 report published this Wednesday (06), the work reached the mark of 27,1% execution, which represents more than a quarter of the completed work.
In six months of intense work, the project has followed the schedule strictly.
The focus has been on infrastructure, with emphasis on the piles for the cable-stayed and precast sections, and the manufacture of the longitudinal beams that will support the bridge.
Execution Details: how the bridge is being built
So far, 24 stakes have already been completed, 14 in the cable-stayed section and 10 in the precast section.
In total, the project foresees the construction of 64 stakes with 40 piles in the precast section e 24 in the guyed.
Additionally, we bring 37 longitudinal beams have already been manufactured, with the aim of reaching a total of 160 by the end of the work.
The crossbeams have also started to be assembled, with four already completed and 22 planned to make up the complete structure of the bridge.
The engineer of the Paranรก Highway Department (DER/PR), Larissa Vieira, stated that the progress of the work is within what was planned.
โThe progress has been visible, with quality, safety and efficiency. Our goal is to deliver a project that will become a landmark for the coast of Paranรก,โ highlighted the engineer.
Economic and employment impact in Paranรก
The construction of the Guaratuba Bridge has already had a major impact on the local economy.
To date, more than 415 workers are working directly in construction, and by the end of 2024, this number is expected to reach 600 people.
The expectation is that the completion of the bridge, scheduled for April 2026, will bring significant benefits to the tourism and the economy from the coast of Paranรก.
Furthermore, the work is being carried out by a multidisciplinary team, made up of engineers, biologists, sailors, oceanographers, bricklayers, welders, among other professionals, who work tirelessly to ensure that the project becomes a reality.
Million-dollar investments and real-time monitoring
The Government of Paranรก, through DER/PR, is investing R $ million 386,9 in the construction of the Guaratuba Bridge.
To ensure transparency and monitoring of the work, activities can be monitored in real time, through monitoring cameras available on the official website of the work (https://www.pontedeguaratuba.pr.gov.br/).
According to the most recent figures, investment in the month of October was R$ 104.699.377,72.
The Bridge will have 1.244 meters long, with four traffic lanes, two safety lanes, sidewalks with cycle paths and a protection system with rigid concrete barriers and guardrails at the ends.
A project awaited for decades: the timeline of the Guaratuba Bridge
A bridge construction officially started on the day April 30th 2024, with the issuance of the Installation License by the State Infrastructure and Logistics Secretariat.
Over the months, several milestones have already been achieved, such as the 1st concreting of piles in the precast section (May), the crane installation at the construction site (July), and the 1st crossbeam completed (September).

Yes, this project will boost the progress of this region, since the rush and mobility are consuming society's neurons, not only for tourism, but it will also facilitate the transportation of heavy loads and for those coming from the South, access to the southern coast of Paranรก will be easier.
