The bridge is transforming the coast. The project, valued at almost R$400 million, is already 17,7% complete and can be followed live on cameras. Expected to create jobs and boost local infrastructure, this connection promises to bring major changes to the region.

When modernity encounters the need for development, impressive results can emerge, completely changing the landscape of a region.

The coast of Paraná is about to receive one of these transformations that promise to redefine its infrastructure and economic potential.

But what makes this work so special? In addition to the large investment, there is a technological component that allows anyone to follow each advance in real time.

The Guaratuba Bridge, with a budget of almost R$400 million, already has 17,7% of its works completed.

This bridge, which will be a landmark for Paraná, will connect the cities of Matinhos and Guaratuba, generating jobs and facilitating the flow between municipalities.

To further promote transparency, monitoring cameras were installed, allowing the population to follow progress directly from their homes.

According to engineer Larissa Vieira, from the Paraná Highway Department (DER/PR), technology is bringing the community closer to the work.

“The monitoring cameras installed on the Guaratuba bridge provide the population with the opportunity to closely monitor the progress of one of the most anticipated construction projects in the state. In addition, they reinforce the commitment to quality and meeting deadlines,” highlighted Larissa.

Transparency and proximity to the community

The two cameras, located at strategic points, allow a detailed view of the construction site.

The first is on the Guaratuba side, positioned to capture the movement at the industrial site, where all the materials and equipment needed for construction pass through.

The second camera, installed on the Matinhos side, provides a privileged view of the bridge's central supports and the cable-stayed section, allowing the public to follow the progress of supports 4 and 5.

According to data collected by engineering until the end of August 2024, the work has already progressed significantly, with the concreting of 16 piles, 12 precast longitudinal beams and 2 cross beams.

These figures highlight the rapid pace of construction, which is expected to have a positive impact on traffic and the region’s economy.

Commitment and financing

The construction of the bridge, which will be 1.244 meters long, will have four traffic lanes, two safety lanes, rigid concrete barriers, as well as sidewalks with a cycle path and guardrails at the ends.

The work is being managed and supervised by DER/PR, an agency linked to the Infrastructure and Logistics Secretariat (SEIL).

Financing is also largely already secured. According to the Government of Paraná, the State Finance Department has already released R$178 million, representing 46% of the total estimated value.

Furthermore, more than R$108 million has already been committed to cover the costs of the work in 2024 alone. This means that, as the work progresses, financial resources are duly reserved to guarantee its continuity.

The impact of the Guaratuba Bridge

This work has been long awaited, not only by the local population, but also by the infrastructure and logistics sectors.

The connection between Matinhos and Guaratuba promises to facilitate the transportation of goods and tourism, in addition to improving the quality of life of those who need to travel daily between the two cities.

The economic impact will be significant, as the bridge will reduce travel time and contribute to the development of the entire coastal region of Paraná.

With the installation of monitoring cameras, the project gains an extra layer of transparency and engagement.

The community, which previously only heard about the construction, can now follow each phase of the progress.

This creates a direct connection between the work and the citizens., who have the opportunity to monitor what is being done and whether deadlines are being met.

The forecast completion date of 2026 may seem distant, but the progress already observed and the Guaratuba Bridge is not just a monumental work; it represents a milestone in the development of the Paraná coast, creating new employment opportunities and boosting the region's economy.

The impact goes beyond the construction itself, opening doors to a more connected and prosperous future for the surrounding cities.

Now, the question remains: will the Guaratuba Bridge meet its schedule and deliver everything it promises by 2026? The population and tourists are anxiously awaiting the answer. The future of the Paraná coast is at stake.
