Large-scale work at a fast pace
The long-awaited Guaratuba Bridge, which will be 1.244 meters long, is in full construction.
The project received support from several entities and local authorities, with emphasis on the vice-governor of Paraná, Darci Piana, who led a technical visit to the works, alongside representatives of the Civil Construction Industry Union of Paraná (Sinduscon-PR), the Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy of Paraná (CREA-PR), the Paraná Engineering Institute (IEP) and the Pró-Paraná Movement, in addition to other authorities, such as former governor Orlando Pessuti.
This delegation aimed to closely monitor the progress of the work, which has already reached 35,3% completion to date.
According to Piana, the project is progressing vigorously, with completion scheduled for April 2026. In his words, “another dream of the people of Paraná coming true”.
During the visit, the Engineering Coordinator of the Nova Ponte Consortium, Álvaro Cavalcanti, presented details of the work, including the progress of construction both at sea and in the central construction site, essential for the progress of the project.
The strategic importance for the State
The CEO of the Paraná Highway Department (DER/PR), Fernando Furiatti, was also present at the technical visit and made a point of highlighting the significance of the work.
“This may be the last year we make the ferry crossing.
We needed the bridge and we faced several challenges. Many people were against it, but since we are stronger and many people are also in favor, we have managed to reach 35% of the construction work today.
We are certain that in April 2026 we will deliver this work”, declared Furiatti, visibly excited about the progress of the works.
The construction of the bridge will not only facilitate vehicle traffic, but will also bring economic and social benefits to the region, which suffers from overload due to ferry crossings.
The expectation is that the bridge will significantly reduce travel time between the municipalities of Guaratuba and the rest of the Paraná coast, in addition to positively impacting the local tourism sector.
Features and specifications of the Guaratuba Bridge
With an estimated cost of R$386,9 million, the Guaratuba Bridge promises to be one of the most modern in Paraná.
The structure will have four traffic lanes, two safety lanes, rigid concrete barriers, sidewalks with cycle paths and guardrails at the ends.
The work is an initiative of the Government of the State of Paraná, through the Department of Highways (DER/PR), linked to the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Logistics (SEIL), which is taking care of all the details of this great achievement.
Scheduled for delivery in April 2026, the new bridge will replace the ferry-boat system, which is currently the only crossing option between Guaratuba and the mainland.
This change is a fundamental step for the development of the region's infrastructure, which has been impacted by precarious and limited mobility.
Follow the work in real time
For those who wish to closely monitor the progress of the works, the Paraná Highway Department offers a website where it is possible to view, in real time, the progress of the construction.
Through the site www.pontedeguaratuba.pr.gov.br, residents of Paraná can access monitoring cameras and observe each progress of the work.
This is an excellent opportunity for those who want to see the construction process of one of the largest infrastructure projects in the state.
Local commitment and support
The president of the Pró-Paraná Movement, Marcos Domakoski, also highlighted the relevance of the work for the state and made a point of emphasizing the continued support of local entities.
“This is an important step that we are taking here, monitoring the work and we have seen that it is progressing according to schedule. We hope to be here soon to witness the inauguration as well.
I would like to thank the four entities for their welcome and you can count on us as we continue to support this work,” said Domakoski.
The partnership between the various bodies and the commitment of the State Government are fundamental to ensuring that the Guaratuba Bridge is delivered as planned, with quality and within the established deadline.
A great transformation for Paraná
The Guaratuba Bridge represents more than just an engineering feat.
It is a milestone in the modernization of the state's infrastructure, which has a direct impact on the quality of life of citizens and the strengthening of the local economy.
With the completion of the works scheduled for April 2026, the people of Paraná can finally celebrate the realization of an old dream.
The crossing that used to take hours will soon be done in minutes, transforming the dynamics of the coast and the region.
Now, the question remains: how will this project affect the flow of tourists on the coast of Paraná and the economic growth of the region? What do you think of this bold project?
