Construction of the bridge is underway. Almost 1 km long and costing R$310 million, the project promises to benefit 65 drivers per day, but still faces challenges and questions about deadlines and budgets.

A gigantic project is underway in Brazil, and its impact could transform the daily lives of thousands of drivers.

A Bridge construction Joinville, located in the state of Santa Catarina, is one of the largest urban interventions in the region, but what really draws attention are its impressive details and the figures involved in the project.

However, many residents still wonder: will everything be ready on time and within budget?

According to the city government, the Joinville Bridge contract underwent a significant adjustment, increasing the total cost of the work to R$310,8 million, an increase of R$14,6 million compared to the initial value of R$296,2 million.

The adjustment is a result of the increase in the prices of inputs construction, such as materials and services, monitored by the National Construction Cost Index – Internal Availability (INCC/DI), and was contractually provided for.

Almost 1 kilometer long, the new bridge will play a crucial role in connecting two important neighborhoods in Joinville: Adhemar Garcia and Boa Vista.

Currently, drivers face significant congestion crossing the river that separates the two areas, and the new bridge aims to alleviate this situation.

Financing and progress of works

Financing for the construction of the Joinville Bridge is being provided in part through a US$40 million loan taken out with Fonplata, an international fund that supports development projects in Latin America.

So far, in 2024, R$45 million has been authorized for the work, with a disbursement of R$5,6 million already made.

The city government is also seeking additional financing to ensure the project is fully completed within the stipulated deadlines.

In addition, there is a supervision contract worth R$7,7 million, responsible for monitoring each stage of the work's development.

How is the construction progress?

Construction work on the bridge began in the Adhemar Garcia neighborhood, and this week, the Joinville city government reported on the progress of activities on the Boa Vista side.

Currently, workers are in the process of installing piles, an essential step in supporting the structure.

The bridge will have 980 meters long and will include the requalification of access roads, which promises to considerably improve traffic in the region.

It is estimated that around 65 thousand people will cross the bridge daily when traffic is finally released.

A high-impact project

In addition to connecting the Adhemar Garcia and Boa Vista neighborhoods, the almost 1-kilometer bridge should directly impact the local economy, reducing travel time and facilitating the transportation of goods.

The expectation is that the infrastructure will improve the quality of life of Joinville residents and help to further develop the region.

Schedule and challenges

Despite the progress of the works, the project still faces some challenges.

The completion date is scheduled for the end of the first half of 2026, but possible adjustments and additional financing may affect this schedule.

Furthermore, the high cost of the project generates debates about the financial impact for the municipality and the viability of new adjustments throughout the execution.

The city government claims that all costs and adjustments are necessary and are being carried out as provided for in the initial contract.

However, many still wonder whether the deadline will be met and whether the work will really be able to benefit the entire population efficiently, without further delays or budget increases.

What to expect from the new bridge?

If everything goes according to plan, the Joinville Bridge will be a key piece in the city's urban development.

With its great potential to improve mobility and boost the local economy, the project promises to leave an important legacy for future generations.

With a robust and modern structure, the bridge will bring more safety and speed to drivers who currently face long daily traffic jams.

Furthermore, the bridge will facilitate the circulation of goods and services, something essential for a growing city like Joinville.

The big question about the bridge

Now, the big question remains: will the work be delivered on time, or will new adjustments and problems arise along the way?

With such a high investment and a tight schedule, any delay can severely impact the routine of drivers in the region.

What do you think? Will the Joinville Bridge be completed on time and bring all the promised benefits? Or could more challenges delay this long-awaited project?
