Businesspeople debate the arrival of the Transnordestina Railway at the Port of Suape

The discussion aims to understand the impacts of the project on the local economy and bring future perspectives for the development of the region.

Suape, Pernambuco – ASSESUAPE (Association of Suape Companies) announced a significant meeting to be held next Thursday, September 21, at the Hotel Intercity Costa Dourada, in Cabo de Santo Agostinho. The objective of the meeting is to outline the next steps for the implementation of the Transnordestina Railway to the Port of Suape and consider the economic benefits for Pernambuco.

Prominent consultants, Francisco Cunha and Marcílio Cunha, both heading the Railway to Suape project, will be the main speakers at the brunch.

The original route of Transnordestina, which now includes the Suape Branch again, was confirmed by the Ministry of Transport at the end of May. Of this route, 180 km of the Salgueiro-Suape section have already been completed, but there is still a long way to go, with an estimated cost of R$5 billion for completion.

Abelardo Borba, president of ASSESUAPE, sees this meeting as a vital opportunity for companies in the region. “The reintegration of Suape into the project offers a chance for the business sector to reflect on the future, looking for ways to enhance the business environment. We believe this project will have a notably positive effect on the companies located here,” he commented.
